While visiting, you can't come to Charleston without taking home a gift or two, the handmade sweetgrass baskets made in the historic downtown open air market are an excellent display of pride and craftsmanship.
Hopefully, when you are in our great historic town you will be spending more than a weekend, you can spend at least two days just searching for the wide variety of complete seashells on some of our magnificent beaches.
Free things? There are many beautiful sights to see in historic Charleston and the super part? They are FREE, with gas hovering close to $4 a gallon, FREE is good!!

Best family value in Charleston- The Pirate Treasure hunt is one of the best family values in historic downtown Charleston.

Carriage Tour- Want to see the city while someone guides you through a hour tour of historic doiwntown?
Ghost Tour- How about the scary side of Charlerston, Old City Jail, Provost Dungeon, Graveyards?
Scenic boat ride- Relaxing, scenic, and informative tour out to Fort Sumter
Aircraft carriers- Submarine, Destroyer, Coast Guard Cutter and an old Vietnam Prison camp
The Battery- White Point Gardens has to be one of the most visited places in Charleston
Sweetgrass baskets- A lowcountry tradition, they have been made in and around this area for over 300 years
The Market- Open air area where local vendors come to show and sell there wares
Calhoun Mansion- Probably one of the largest privately owned homes that may be toured on the East Coast
